The workshop is based on the deeply human experience, that healing and co-regulation are learned in a safe and attuned relational field, supporting us to develop and grow.

In this advanced training, approaches of regulating osteopathic touch work are introduced and combined with the affective principles of social communication. The way we relate to early biopsychological attachment patterns, which are actualized and triggered in each new contact, and our adaptation strategies to deal with them, is crucial for our physical and emotional well-being and/or becoming symptomatic.

Participants will learn additional skills enhancing the effectiveness of sessions and support the implementation of specific tools regulating the brain and nervous system.

Topics covered:

• The autonomic nervous system (ANS) as a relational system: the biological basis for the psychology of attachment
• The transformative quality of safety
• Neuroception and Polyvagal Theory (Stephen Porges): N. vagus and its fundamental role for social communication and prosocial behavior
• Emergent „portals“ to regulate and co-regulate autonomic states
• The states of the ANS, N. vagus and their influence on psychological experience, stress-, affect-regulation and relational behaviour
• „Polyvagal“ informed approaches and interventions supporting the effectiveness of the therapeutic process
• Some specific approaches to regulating touch/selftouch that support the integration of trapped energies in the abdomen and chest area

The course will be taught in English.
